Its important to record your conferences and small group work, and it is important to develop a system for doing so that fits intimately into the rhythms of your own teaching. The most important thing...Your records of teacher MUST help you teach better and help your student learn better!


Teacher College Recommendations



1. Page on a clipboard- month at a glance calendar, but is a class at glance
  • This records the compliment and teacher point of ant conference held

2. Record keeping sheet culled on mail goals from the learning progression
  • for the type of writing they are teaching, and it reminds themselves of their goals for student learning
  • Some teachers write prewritten list of possible compliments or teaching points and carry these prewritten teaching points with them, checking off what a child is doing, compliments, what the will teacher, and what the recognize they could but won’t be teaching

3. Notebooks divided into sections, one for each child
  • Record their conferences and small group instruction with each child
  • 3a. Variation- sticky notes transferred to notebooks
